Just wanted to let you know about the next 5 and final lot of the WOODBEES – my collab with the super talented Lunabee. This time we have 4 lovely worker-bees – and of course their esteemed Queen who is larger than the worker bees and sports a beautiful dainty crown. You can see more pictures of all the bees on her flickr:
They will be up on sale today on Lunabees store at 7pm London time on the 17th May! Please note these are the very last in this series, each is uniquely painted and once they’re gone, they’re gone! Worker bees are a mere $99 and the beautiful Queen with the hand carved crown $149. The sale will be take place at Lunabee’s store (http://lunabee.co.uk)!
i’m very happy to announce my recent collaboration between myself and the very talentd UK artist Lunabee. The hand carved wooden bees, aptly names WOODBEES, were created by myself here in Switzerland out of maple & walnut wood and then shipped over to her to paint up in the lovely Lunabee style. There are 10 bees in total – 9 smaller worker bees (approx 2.5 inches in length) and one large Queen bee (approx 3.5″). The worker bees will be up for $99 each and the Queen for $149.
These are the only bees that are being made – there will be no future series, it’s a one off collaboration and so this is the only chance to grab one of these wooden delights.
The release is being split into two with 5 worker bees being released this Thursday the 10th May at 7pm London time on Lunabees store (http://lunabee.co.uk) and the remaining 4 worker bees and the Queen being released on Thursday the 17th May at the same time and in the same place.
The 5 being released this Thursday and are named (using the group shot) L-R :
Daisy, Totem, Noctus, Dolly and Harley
The photos of the other bees will be released next Monday. In case you can’t wait to see more, you can see some work in progress pictures on flickr.
The second wave of walnut and maple Rample and Roams consists of the final 5 Roams of an Edition of 10 and 5 one-eyed Rambles with medi-kit accessory (wave one had 2 eyes and a camera accessory and was also limited to 5).
Ramble and Roam come as a set. Ramble is 5.5 inches tall, Roam is 2.25 inches tall. On sale tomorrow, newsletter goes out today! Ramble and Roam are a collaboration with the London based artist Cris Rose - www.crisrose.co.uk
Ramble is the larger character, a robot grown from wood that feels he is missing something in his big hollow tummy. Coming in single and two-eyed variants, he has thoughts on what he might desire and looks to seek them out. Roam is the smaller chap, keen to help out and particularly good at finding lost things. With one big brass eye, he holds his find aloft and shuffles along as quickly as he can manage.
Release July 18th (sold out!)
From the first Prototype to the final series, see here a few Work In Progress pictures of the two Arborobots “Ramble & Roam”. The first wave was sold out in a few minutes but the second wave will be available soon. I case you want to catch a set be sure to sign up for my Newsletter and get the chance to pre-order yours before they’ll hit the store!

4″ Designer Wood Toy by Pepe Hiller (No. 01/01)
(pear wood, maple wood, high-gloss finish)
Besideswatering my little CRESS CITTER garden, i felt like i should do another wooden toy for the collection. The idea for this tiny giraffe came little by little while cutting and sanding the pet out of a rough wooden sheet and somehow i finally bring up to a round figure. There was no concept drawings or sketches for this design. I used pear wood for the body and maple wood for the smaller parts, then finished the piece with a high-gloss varnish to get all these sweet highlights.
PEARGIR will be soon available in our shop, follow me on twitter to get to know when he’s up in the store!
The first bunch of XMAS PEARBLOCK Angels are gone for Christmas and few more waiting for their new owners. Thanks for your support and i wish you all Happy Holidays! ^___^
Ok i’m late as usual but i’ve worked today on my small series of XMAS PEARBLOCK’s. I droped the arms because they where to small for my taste, i’m fine with only the two wings on the back of the body.
All the pieces are now finished with semigloss varnish. Still have to assemble them and have to find a nice gift packaging solution…no idea about this, very simple i think. For branding them i’m too late, time is running out. Srry for the blurry cell phone pics, i’ll update the blog with better pic’s of this series when Christmas is over.
